Some organizations have weekly, monthly, annual awards for the best employee for that period. Not everyone understands how the whole selection is done, lets admit, most of the time its subjective!
In understanding and my own experience, and in my world, the title of best employee would go to the following:
1. If it's a profit making company , then a person who has improved the revenue of the company by coming up with an innovative approach to increase profits or sales
2. A person who has reduced costs in one area of operation thus resulting in savings for the company
3. A person who has shown excellent customer service to a Client/ Clients
4. A person who has helped develop a colleague
5. A person who has represented the company well externally
Are you an employee of the week?
If you always do what you are expected to do in the way you are expected t do, there is no way you will shine. You will be just another average employee.
Strive to exceed the expectations of your boss and also of your colleagues and see how far that will take you, but remember, do not do it just to get a reward, do it because you know you can!
