When it rains in Dar!!!!!

I seriously am amazed at the effects of rain in Dar es Salaam. And mind you I am not talking about floods or falling trees and falling power lines!

It has become very predictable when it is raining outside, everyone knows the traffic is going to be horrendous.
Is it possible that we are so used to being directed by police officers  such that when it rains , they can not stand in the rain?People from all sides of the road decide to go at the same time (everyone is in a hurry),all intersections become blocked , service roads full of static vehicles!

Another possibility is that some vehicles are not properly maintained and serviced . Come rain, the roads become slippery, potholes which are usually visible during the dry seasons are now covered with water. Motor vehicles bang into them and do not move, leaving a trail of honking cars behind them.

To all bosses and supervisors at the office, know when it rains you should expect a lot of your employees to come late and don't ask questions, you know the answers!

As for the rest.....find a hobby while you are stuck in traffic , you are going to be there for a loooooong time!
